At Giggles & Goose, we love the feel, sustainability, open-ended
nature of play and beautiful aesthetic of wooden toys and decor.
We strive to be as child- and eco-friendly as we can, because our children play with our toys too.
If you don't see the answer to your question here, please drop us a line.
What types of wood do you use?
Although we use mainly maple, birch, poplar and pine, we do use many different wood varieties.
Are the toys child-safe?
Our paint and finishes are all carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. All of our paints and finishes are plant-based, water-based, and completely non-toxic. The paint and finishes are ACMI-certified. All glues are certified indirect food-safe and non-toxic. Our children play with these toys too; we want to make sure that both the toy and finishes are safe.
Where are the products made?
All items are made in Toronto, Ontario in a home studio.
How do I clean the wooden toys?
Use a damp cloth to wipe clean.
What are the marks on the wooden toys?
One of the reasons why we love wood as a medium is because of its' unique quality - it has different markings depending where and how the tree grew, how it was harvested, and how it was milled. The markings are harmless and give it a beautiful and natural look.
How are the toys eco-friendly?
Wood is a natural, renewable, and sustainable material for toys and decor. It also has a lighter carbon footprint than plastic. We select paint and finishing products from a company that places a high value on eco-friendly practices. We choose recycled, reusable and sustainable materials and packaging for our products.
All of our paints and finishes are plant-based, water-based, and completely non-toxic. The paint and finishes are ACMI-certified, and we strive to support businesses that are grounded in inclusivity and maintain the highest standards for environmental practices.
To help offset our eco-footprint, we have partnered with OneTreePlanted.org to plant one tree for each product sold. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Do you have a physical storefront location?
No - at the moment, we are online only. Local pickup in Toronto is available.
How long will it take to receive my items?
Items take 3-5 days to ship upon receipt of order. Shipping and delivery times are subject to carriers, and may have longer than normal wait times due to COVID 19.
How durable are the wooden toys?
We hand select high-quality wood, and take care to check the integrity of the materials at each step of processing. However, it is a constantly changing item that responds to air and moisture changes. You may notice subtle changes to your wooden toys over time, especially if exposed to humidity, sunlight, outdoors or dampness.
We recommend that children use the objects with care as they are not indestructible. It is possible that pieces may break or chip. Items can be repaired with a small amount of wood glue - and we provide a care kit for a nominal free to extend the life of your wooden toy items.
What is your return policy?
Returns can be made for shop credit. Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt of items, and must be in original and unused condition. Please note, delivery costs will not be reimbursed (return shipping is also not included).
To make a return please send an e-mail to email@example.com so we can get the process going for you.
